A trip to Kawaii Mochi bar!

In today’s world of internet, you happen to bump into such a variety of different things. It was quite some time back, when I was perusing on my Instagram and I came across a very interesting dessert. And what’s it called, you may ask? It’s called ‘Mochi’. Taa-daa!

This fluffy cloud of deliciousness, which finds its roots in Japan, comprises of a glutenous riceflour ball stuffed with red bean paste and ice cream. Although Mochi has existed in Japan for a very long while, it has slowly found its way globally, for been aesthetically pleasing to one’s eyes and on one’s Instagram feed as well.

And since Mochi is one of the very unique desserts in the world, made in Kawaii colours, I was more attracted towards the idea of it. And it’s obviously because I have a thing for Kawaii. For long, I have been waiting for Bangalore to have its very own Mochi Bar, and now when it has one, there is no way I can contain my excitement.

So, Kawaii Mochi Bar, located in HSR layout, Bengaluru, is one of the city’s first café, serving authentic Mochi. Last weekend, I decided to explore the Mochi Bar by myself, and finally have a taste of this fluffiness. Accompanied with my sister, I fought the traffic of Bengaluru, to try Mochi for the very first time in my life.

As we entered the café, the very first thing I noticed was the Kawaii-ambience. Walls painted in pink, a large sofa, also in pink, gave me a very warm and Kawaii feeling at once. We seated ourselves comfortably on the couch an ordered quite a few items from the menu.

Let me walk you through the flavours of Mochi that we tried. First came vanilla and jasmine, served on a pink plate, with rainbow sprinkles over it. I gobbled up the vanilla Mochi at once, and had a brain freeze, instant regret much!

Next came tropical lime; so this was a pretty interesting experience. Although, it’s just an ice-cream, we could literally taste the sourness of lime in it. Very unique indeed. We also had strawberry, cookies and cream, which had such cute Kawaii colours. I took a million pictures and almost didn’t feel like eating them because of how perfect they were.

One of the must-haves is the Korean banana flavour. It is indeed a treat to the taste buds. Pro-tip, wait for about 2-3 mins after your Mochi is served. Overall experience of the café was quite great.

I loved how they have stuck to the Kawaii themes, and how they have attempted to inculcate Kawaiiness in the making of the café. If you are obsessed with Kawaii- Everything cute like me, then I one hundred percent recommend you to visit this place.

Don’t forget to read all my other posts. Thank you for all the support! Will be back with more fun stuff soon.

Yours truly,
